Director and Acting Chair - Gavin Miles

Black Dog Ride Director Gavin Miles Gavin has past experience as a Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of three companies, has been a farmer, a Chartered Accountant and now runs a Financial Advisory business. Gavin is a member and former President and Treasurer of the Claremont-Nedland Lions Club, and is committed to serving and supporting local communities.

Secretary - Fiona Duffield

Black Dog Ride Company Secretary Fiona Duffield Fiona brings to Black Dog Ride over 15 years involvement in the not for profit sector as Administrator, Facilitator and Manager. Fiona specialises in governance, policy and community development, and has worked with national, state and local not for profits and government. Fiona has lived experience of suicide and mental illness, and is passionate about building healthy, resilient communities.

Director - Tony Kiernan

Black Dog Ride Director Tony KiernanTony, previously a practicing commerical lawyer for over 25 years, has extensive experience in the administration and operation of public companies. Tony is currently a director on four companies listed on the ASX and also has a long history of involvement in the charity sector. Tony is currently Chairman of the Fiona Wood Foundation, and was on the Board of Anglicare (WA) for over 20 years.

Director - Jim Redmond

Black Dog Ride's Jim RedmondOriginally a telecommunications technician, Jim became a Trainer and Facilitator, ultimately obtaining Management and Human Resource qualifications and is now a Project Officer for a Victorian local council, coordinating contract relationships. Jim is Black Dog Ride's Wangaratta Coordinator and stepped up as Interim CEO from February - June 2017.

Ex Officio (Advisor) - David Peach

Black Dog Ride's CEO David PeachDavid has spent three decades as a business owner, and also has a long history of service in the not for profit sector. First saddling up for Back Dog Ride in 2012, by 2016 David had signed up as Black Dog Ride's Penrith NSW Coordinator. David's business expertise combined with his passion suicide prevention led him to be appointed Black Dog Ride's inaugural CEO in June 2017.

David's business expertise combined with his passion suicide prevention led him to be appointed Black Dog Ride's inaugural CEO in June 2017.

Rosemary Hancock

Black Dog Ride's Rosemary HancockRosemary has been Black Dog Ride's Volunteer Bathurst Coordinator for 5 years now, embracing a cause close to her heart. A passionate and active motorcycle rider in her local region, Rose is a CPA with a Bachelor of Business majoring in both Accounting and Business Law, a registered Tax Agent, a JP and specialises in tax and business accounting.

Andrew Prescott

Black Dog Ride's Andrew PrescottAndrew has over 20 years in the finance and banking sectors and has experience as a small businessmen, bookkeeper, financial planner and BAS Agent with diverse involvement in the not for profit sector. Andrew is a former Black Dog Ride Darwin and NT Coordinator, and now is now based on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, assisting with his local Black Dog Ride 1 Dayer.

Christine Pidgeon - Ex Officio (Advisor)

Black Dog Ride's Christine PidgeonChristine is Black Dog Ride's contracted Bookkeeper, joining the Black Dog Ride Staff Team in April 2017 during the frenetic wrap up of the March 1 Dayer and has embraced the challenges and vibrancy of working in a charity. Christine has a Bachelor of Commerce and is working towards her CPA qualification.

Michael Young

Black Dog Ride's Michael YoungMichael or "Youngie" as he is affectionately known amongst Black Dog Riders, has been involved with Black Dog Ride for 5 years, 4 of them as Sunshine Coast and QLD Coordinator. Michael has spent 38 yrs working in the emergency services environment, is an Operational Capability Officer with QLD Fire and Emergency Services, and is currently on secondment to QLD Police Service.

Wayne Amor

Black Dog Ride's Wayne AmorWayne is an Electrical Contractor with over 3 decades in the industry, rising from apprentice to Team Leader with an electric supply company, and obtaining an Advanced Diploma in Business Management. Currently working in Electrical Auditing and Compliance, Wayne first joined Black Dog Ride in 2014 as a Dubbo Ride Coordinator, and has been Black Dog Ride's NSW Coordinator since 2015.

Mental Health Advisory Subcommittee

Chair - Jon Benham

Black Dog Ride's Jon BenhamJon is a Mental Health Nurse and Regional Manager for Australian Regional and Remote Community Services. Jon helped develop and implement the first Personal Helpers and Mentors (PHaM) teams in NT and his passion is building psycho-social support within communities. Jon is Black Dog Ride's NT Coordinator, and won Pride of Australia in 2017 for his services to mental health with Black Dog Ride.

Bev Seeney

Black Dog Ride's Bev SeeneyBev studied Psychology, Art Therapy and Psychotherapy, and has run a private practise for the past 15 years, following a Somatic method of psychotherapy called Hakomi. Bev specialises in depression, trauma, sexual assault and has significant experience in family violence, working in a women's refuge for a decade. Bev and her husband Rog are long time Black Dog Riders based in Denmark, WA.

Charles Linsley

Black Dog Ride's Charles LinsleyCharles' first Black Dog Ride was in 2012 to the Red Centre, and in 2013 became the Mackay Coordinator, organising the town's annual 1 Dayer. Charles is an Accredited Standard Mental Health First Aid Instructor and runs courses in the Mackay Whitsunday Region. He is also a member of the Suicide Prevention Action Planning Project Mackay Region, and a First Aid for Motorcyclists Instructor.

Membership

Membership to Black Dog Ride Australia Ltd will be opened in 2017. Ordinary Membership will be available to riders and volunteers who have participated in an approved Black Dog Ride activity, and Associate Membership will be open to all who support Black Dog Ride's mission. Corporate Membership will also be available. Please subscribe to the Black Dog Ride Newsletter to receive notification of the memberships opening.
